Your board from Monday July 21
What a phone can read
Different board on Tuesday. Three pork tacos $10, pulled pork grilled cheese $12. Different again on the Friday. That is the point of the page.
Brownsville, Oregon. Dine in, take out, or have it delivered.
Directions to the door N Main St, Brownsville or call (541) 466-3900That board at the top is yours. I typed it straight off the photo you put on Facebook on Monday July 21, down to the mustard. I did not write a word of it and I did not make up a price.
Here is the thing I would want to know if it were my shop. You rewrite that board every morning and you photograph it, and it goes to 2,100 people who follow you. But a photograph of handwriting is the one thing a phone cannot make bigger and Google cannot read at all. Somebody searching lunch in Brownsville at eleven o'clock gets nothing of what you actually cooked today.
That is the whole job. Same board, same words, as text, in a place anybody can find it. It takes about a minute a day.
I have left the street number off on purpose, and here is why. Google says 240 N Main St. Your Facebook page says 250 N Main St. I do not know which one is right and I was not going to guess it onto a page. The directions button above goes to the exact spot on the map either way, so nothing is broken, but one of those two is sending somebody to the wrong door.
Your Google listing has no website link on it. Google is showing an “Add website” button in the space where it would go. That is the field this page would fill, and it is the only reason I built it.
Nobody has claimed the profile yet. Google is still offering “Claim this business” to anyone who looks you up, which means the hours above, the address and the phone number are all sitting there without you holding the keys to them. Claiming it is free and it takes a few minutes.
“I love this place! I drive from Sweet Home to eat here because I love their sandwiches so much! They have the best bread and their staff is always very friendly and helpful.” Carissa Kay, three months ago
“They have a delicious veggie sandwich. Soups are great. Top tier customer service everytime. Excellent stop for pastries too. Love the atmosphere in this little cafe.” Angela Conrad, eleven months ago
277 reviews at 4.7 is a bigger number than most businesses in this valley will ever see, and the first one up there is somebody driving in from Sweet Home. That is not a review about coffee. That is a person telling you your sandwiches are worth a twenty minute drive.
You already photograph the board every morning, so the habit is there. It is the food that never gets its turn. A tray of cinnamon rolls before the morning goes. A pastrami cut in half. The soup. The room from the door with people in it. The front of the building from across Main Street so a stranger knows what they are looking for.
I am not going to take those. They should be yours, and the phone in your pocket is better than anything I would bring.
This is a concept, built to show you what a page for the cafe could look like. It is not live, nothing has been published, and there is nothing to sign.
The only prices on this page are the two off your July 21 board, and they are labelled as that day. I have not built you a standing menu, because you do not run one. Guessing at what is permanent and what was Monday is exactly how a page like this goes stale and starts costing you.
Same for the delivery. Your Google listing says you deliver, but not how, or how far, or whether it runs all day. Those are three questions a customer asks before they order and I could not answer one of them from the outside.
And your Google listing has no link to your Facebook page either. Two thousand people follow you there. Somebody who finds you on Google is never told it exists.
One more, and it is the one I would fix first. Your printed menu says a toasted pastrami is $13.00. Your board on July 21 said $12.50. Same for the Main Street Philly. I do not know which is current, and neither does anybody looking you up, because both of them are photographs.
